Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islander Social Media Project Report

The Department of Community Safety, funded under the National Emergency Management Projects (NEMP), conducted research into social media within remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This research was carried out from July to October 2013, and was in two stages – initially, to determine whether social media was an appropriate communication method for immediate disaster information. Secondly, to determine what social media was being used by these remote communities and how.
